In 2013, Jean-François Paquay registered the name "Portager" (porte-manteau of portable and potager), but assembly instructions (seen here) are open-source, so anyone can make them. Each 30cm x 30cm basket is designed for one person to carry. A 3x3 grid makes a 1-meter square potager, which easily accomodates today's plethora of pre-fab urban farm kits.
That same year, Jean-François Paquay conducted research that proved how easily accessible mole-hill soil combined with commercially-available organic soil approximates his land-; labour- and time-intensive artisanal soil. His artisanal soil is special since it is biodiverse, providing habitat for millions of microbes, insects and worms.
